Formal Composition Response
Liberty and Equality is something everyone wants and what people make an effort to live by simply. If you think about it, in those days everyone was not " free” whether it had to do with being an African American or maybe a woman. " What the Dark Man Wants” by Frederick Douglass and " What the American Girl Wants” simply by Elizabeth Cady Stanton are two speeches that are aiming to persuade all their audiences pertaining to freedom essentially. Douglass is definitely arguing that African American should be free to live life for themselves and Stanton states that women will need their legal rights just like men because that they deserve it. Both of the speeches possess pathos and logos to prove their very own arguments, whilst Douglass uses repetition and Stanton uses idioms.
Frederick argues that American persons shouldn't have right to notify someone how you can live especially if one can go about all by themselves. Douglass claims that " If the Renegrido cannot live by the type of eternal justice…the fault will never be yours, it will be his whom make the Marrano, and founded that line for his government. Allow him to live or die by that” and therefore when they are liberated to be it in the long run if that they mess all of us it will not be the governments fault for their failing but if the authorities has this kind of control over African Americans then simply they'll be those people too pin the consequence on because they set these people up for failure. I consider this to be logos and pathos because the affirmation is true, should you aren't allowing someone live to be is to do something great then you are the one to fault if they fail by life because you don't give them the opportunity. This connections into Elizabeth's argument since she too wants women to have liberty and legal rights like males do, and they don't since society doesn't give them the opportunity. Stanton declares that " to state our directly to be free of charge as guy is cost-free, to be symbolized in the government which we are taxed to support…to consider wages which will she gets, the property the girl...
