Halfway throughout the trail to Hell,
Within a shady meadow green
Would be the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Around a good old-time canteen.
Which eternal sleeping place
Is recognized as Fiddlers' Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are noticed.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the gradation of Cavalrymen
Land at Fiddlers' Green.
Though some go curving throughout the trail
To get a warmer field.
No nerf alpha trooper review ever grows to Hell
Ere he's purged his canteen.
And so voyages back to beverage again
With friends in Fiddlers' Green.
And so the moment man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You quit a bullet clean,
Plus the hostiles arrive to get your remaining hair,
Just vacant your canteen,
And put the pistol on your head
